MELBOURNE - Aug 26/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over southeastern Australia will move over the northern Tasman Sea today, maintaining a ridge over eastern New South Wales, while a weakening trough approaches the west. A trough is expected to brush the south of the state on Wednesday followed by a new high moving into the southern Tasman Sea. A second, stronger trough is likely to cross western NSW Thursday then weaken as it moves through eastern parts during Friday. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayFine and mostly sunny day. Possible light shower in the far southwest late in the evening. Early frost patches about the ranges and early fog patches in the east. Warm day in the west. Light winds tending moderate northwesterly in the west.Wednesday 28 AugustPossible isolated showers in the south. Mostly sunny in the north. Early fog patches in the east. Warm day in the west. Moderate northwesterly winds in the west, chiefly southerly winds along the coast.Thursday 29 AugustPossible isolated showers in most southern and eastern districts. Partly cloudy in the northwest and on the north coast and ranges. Possible isolated thunderstorms about the southeast. Very warm day in the west. Northerly winds freshening, becoming strong in the west before a westerly change.Friday 30 AugustIsolated showers in the east, tending to clear during the day.
