Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 24/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system at the head of the Bight will move over southern NSW during the weekend then to the Tasman Sea on Monday. The tail end of a cold front will cross Tasmania on Sunday. A low pressure trough will cross the Bight on Monday then approach western Victoria on Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers or drizzle possible in most districts but mostly clearing during the afternoon and evening. A cool to mild and mostly cloudy day with light to moderate west to southwesterly winds tending northwesterly from the west during the afternoon.Sunday 25 AugustPatchy drizzle about the dividing range and scattered showers developing about the southwest coast but mostly dry elsewhere. Morning fog patches in the north and east. A cool to mild and mostly cloudy day with light to moderate west to northwesterly winds, fresh about elevated areas.Monday 26 AugustAreas of morning fog in the north. Isolated showers over southern and mountain districts, falling as snow on the Alpine peaks. Dry over the northern plains. A generally mild day with light to moderate west to northwesterly winds.Tuesday 27 AugustAreas of morning fog over the northeast. Morning showers possible about the Gippsland coast and isolated showers developing in the west at night. Otherwise a mild and partly cloudy day with light winds tending northerly in the west.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Saturday.Product IDV10310
