Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 23/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A ridge of high pressure lies over Queensland while a series of cold fronts from the Southern Ocean pass across New South Wales. These fronts are bringing windy conditions across the south, although precipitation is generally limited to parts of the southern inland. The last of these fronts will cross today, after which the ridge will shift southwards to promote generally fine weather through the region during the weekend. Early in the new week this ridge appears likely to decay, allowing the intrusion of further frontal systems.
Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers over the southern and central inland tending scattered at first near the Victorian border, easing during the afternoon. Showers falling as snow above 1200 metres in the south. Early frosts, mainly about the tablelands. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. West to southwesterly winds, strong and gusty across southern and central districts.Saturday 24 AugustThe chance of showers about the western slopes of the southern ranges, falling as snow about 1500 metres, and the far south coast. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Southeast to southwesterly winds, fresh and gusty near the coast.Sunday 25 AugustFine apart from the chance of a light shower or two about the southwest slopes. Mostly sunny. Early frost and fog patches about the tablelands. Light winds in the north, tending moderate westerly across the south.Monday 26 AugustFine apart from the chance of a light shower or two about the southwest slopes, and in the far northeast.
