MELBOURNE - Aug 23/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A vigorous west to southwest airstream over southern coasts will ease during today. A high near Perth will move eastwards to be over South Australia on Saturday. A trough of low pressure will move across from the west early next week. Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers over the agricultural area and far south of the pastoral districts, scattered over the Mount Lofty Ranges and the Lower South East in the morning, contracting southwards to the southern agricultural area in the evening. Early fog patches over the northern agricultural area and pastoral districts. Cool in the south grading to mild in the north and west. Moderate to fresh west to southwest winds, tending light to moderate south to southwest in the north.Saturday 24 AugustMorning fog patches. Isolated showers about the southern agricultural area. Cool to mild in the south, grading to warm in the far northeast. Light and variable winds.Sunday 25 AugustIsolated early frost about the Flinders, Mid North, Riverland and far south of the Pastoral districts. Fine apart from isolated showers about the Lower South East coast and isolated early morning showers about Kangaroo Island. Cool to mild in the south grading to mild to warm in the north and west. Light to moderate northeast to northwesterly winds.Monday 26 AugustIsolated showers over the Lower South East clearing during the afternoon. Possible isolated showers developing in the far west. Cumulative rainfall totals from Friday morning to midnight Monday are expected to be 2 to 5 mm over the Mount Lofty Ranges and Lower South East coast. Less than 2 mm elsewhere.Tuesday until ThursdayPossible isolated light showers south of about Woomera on Tuesday clearing to the east during the day. Possible isolated showers developing in the west on Wednesday, becoming more likely on Thursday and extending over the agricultural area.
