Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 22/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front over central Victoria will clear away to the east this morning. Another cold front is likely to cross southern Victoria tonight and early Friday as the next high pressure system develops over the head of the Bight. This high pressure system will move over southern NSW on Saturday, then to the Tasman Sea later Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayScattered showers in southern and mountain areas, becoming more widespread near the central and western coasts and the eastern ranges. Only isolated showers over the northern plains. Isolated thunderstorms possible near the coast. Snowfalls above 1100 metres. A cool and mostly cloudy day with moderate to fresh west to northwesterly winds, strong at times about the eastern ranges and near the coast.Friday 23 AugustScattered showers, more widespread near the central coast and eastern ranges. Only isolated showers over the northwest. Snowfalls above 1300 metres. A cool and mostly cloudy day with moderate to fresh west to southwesterly winds, strong at times along parts of the coast.Saturday 24 AugustIsolated showers near and south of the ranges clearing during the afternoon and evening. Showers falling as snow above 1500 metres. Morning fog patches, mainly near the ranges. A cool to mild and mostly cloudy day with light west to southwesterly winds tending northwesterly from the west.Sunday 25 AugustIsolated showers about the ranges and in the southwest. Morning fog patches in the north and east. An otherwise fine and cool to mild day with light to moderate west to northwesterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Thursday.Product IDV10310
