Forecast for Wednesday Fine and mostly sunny conditions across most of the state. A cool to cold morning in central and southern districts with more widespread frost areas over inland areas. Some high cloud should spread over the southern tropics but no rainfall is expected at this stage. Temperatures are expected to be cooler than the August average for southern and southeast districts. Outlook for Sunday, Monday and Tuesday The high will move slowly east into the Tasman Sea during the outlook period. Isolated showers are likely to persist over the northeast tropics due to an onshore airflow, becoming scattered over the Cassowary Coast early next week as the flow freshens. Isolated showers are also likely to develop along the exposed southern Queensland coast from Sunday as a trough and low pressure system moves over the Tasman Sea and brings increasing south to southeasterly winds. Isolated showers may extend across most eastern districts on Monday and Tuesday as the high moves into the Tasman Sea and an onshore flow develops along the length of the east coast. Fine and mostly sunny conditions are expected otherwise. The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am EST Wednesday.
