Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 19/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A deep low pressure system south of Tasmania is slowly moving south-southeast. A high pressure system is moving near the Bight extending a ridge over most of New South Wales. Over the next few days the high will move east strengthening the ridge across the west and southeast of the state as colds fronts associated with the low cross the southeast. By Saturday the low will weaken and the high is expected to be positioned over southeastern Australia.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayIsolated showers about the southeastern inland, tending scattered on western slopes. Snow showers on the ranges above 600 metres at first but retreating to higher levels during the day. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Morning frost areas. Fresh, cold southwesterly winds, moderating in the west.Wednesday 21 AugustIsolated showers over the southern inland, more likely about the western slopes. Morning frost areas, widespread about the tablelands. Mostly sunny elsewhere. South to southwesterly winds.Thursday 22 AugustIsolated showers over the southern inland tending scattered on the western slopes of the ranges. Snow showers on the Alps. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Morning frost areas. West to southwesterly winds, freshening across the south.Friday 23 AugustIsolated showers over the southern and central inland tending scattered on the western slopes of the ranges and possibly extending to the south coast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Snow showers on the Alps.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Tuesday.Product IDN10031
