MELBOURNE - Aug 19/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high 1028 hPa over the west of the Bight will move slowly eastwards and maintain an onshore airstream over South Australia. A cold front will move across the south of South Australia on Wednesday. A new high will move over the State on the weekend. Forecast for the rest of MondayIsolated showers with possible small hail south of about Clare, tending scattered in the South East district, contracting to southern coasts in the evening. Cold in the south and about the ranges, cool over the remainder. Moderate to fresh southwest winds, tending light to moderate south to southeast in the west.Tuesday 20 AugustIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area and possibly over the northern agricultural area. Cold in the south and about the ranges, cool over the remainder. Light to moderate southwest to southeast winds.Wednesday 21 AugustIsolated showers extending over the agricultural area and south of the Pastoral districts, increasing to scattered showers from the over the southern agricultural area during the afternoon and evening. Cool in the south, grading to mild in the north. Moderate to fresh northwest winds, turning southwest in the west.Thursday 22 AugustIsolated showers over the agricultural area and south of the Pastoral districts, tending scattered over the southern agricultural area. Cool in the south, grading to mild in the north. Moderate to fresh west to southwest winds.Friday 23 AugustIsolated showers over the agricultural area and south of the Pastoral districts, scattered over the southern coasts and ranges in the morning, contracting southwards to the southern agricultural area in the evening. Cool in the south grading to mild in the north and west. Moderate to fresh west to southwest winds, tending light to moderate south to southwest in the north. Cumulative rainfall totals from Monday afternoon to midnight Friday are expected to be 10 to 20 mm over the southern agricultural area, reaching 20 to 30 mm about the Lower South East coast. 5 to 10 mm over the northern agricultural area and up to 5 mm over the south of the pastoral districts.Saturday until MondayIsolated showers over the southern coastal districts, contracting south and clearing on Sunday.
