Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 16/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high west of Western Australia extends a ridge across northern parts of the state An intense low pressure system will move eastwards to the south of the State on Sunday. A series of cold fronts associated with this low will cross southern parts of SA over the weekend and early next week.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers about the agricultural area and West Coast district, tending to scattered with possible small hail and thunderstorms south of line about Elliston to Adelaide to Keith. Cool to mild in the south, grading to warm in the north. Moderate to fresh and gusty northwest to southwesterly winds, strong at times near the coast.Sunday 18 AugustIsolated showers about the West Coast district and agricultural area, scattered showers at first over the southern agricultural area. Possible morning thunderstorms about southern coasts. Possible small hail developing south of about Adelaide later in the day. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh northwest to southwesterly winds, strong to gale force about southern coasts.Monday 19 AugustIsolated showers over the agricultural area, scattered during the morning with possible small hail about southern districts. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh southeast to southwest winds, tending to mainly light winds in the west.Tuesday 20 August
Isolated showers over the agricultural area. Generally cool to mild with light to moderate southwest to southeast winds.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Saturday morning to midnight Tuesday are expected to be 2 to 10 mm over the northern agricultural area, increasing to 10 to 30 mm over the southern agricultural area and reaching 30 to 60 mm about the Mount Lofty Ranges and Lower South East district with isolated falls of up to 80 mm possible about the Mt Lofty Ranges. Less than 2 mm is expected about the remainder of the West Coast and the south of the Pastoral districts.
Wednesday until FridayIsolated showers, increasing to scattered showers for a period about the southern agricultural area Wednesday night and Thursday morning. Remaining cool to mild in the south with moderate to fresh westerly winds and mild to warm in the north with light to moderate southwest to southeast winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CST Saturday.Product IDS10033
