Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 14/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high 1024 hPa near Port Augusta will move into New South Wales today. A significant cold front will traverse the State during Friday. An intense low will move eastwards to the south of the State on Sunday with an associated cold front crossing southern parts early on Monday.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated morning showers the Lower South East coast. Early morning frost over the northern agricultural area and south of the pastoral districts. Cool to mild with light to moderate northeast to northerly winds.Friday 16 AugustIsolated showers developing about the West Coast and central districts during the afternoon, then extending to central and eastern parts late afternoon or evening. Showers increasing to scattered about southern coasts and ranges, with possible isolated thunderstorms. Mild to warm, hot in the far north. Fresh to strong and gusty northerly winds, ahead of a cooler moderate to fresh west to southwesterly change extending from the west during the day.Saturday 17 AugustIsolated showers about the agricultural area, West Coast district and south of the pastoral districts, scattered with possible small hail about southern coasts. Cool to mild in the south, grading to warm in the north. Moderate to fresh northwest to southwesterly winds, strong at times near the coast.Sunday 18 AugustIsolated showers about the West Coast district, agricultural area and far south of the pastorals, increasing to scattered over the southern agricultural area with possible small hail about southern coasts. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh northwest to southwesterly winds, strong to gale force about southern coasts. Cumulative rainfall totals from Thursday morning to midnight Sunday are expected to be 5 to 10 mm over the agricultural area, increasing to 10 to 20 mm over the southern agricultural area and reaching 20 to 30 mm about the south of the Mount Lofty Ranges and over the Lower South East district, increasing further to 30 to 40 mm about the Lower South East coast. Less than 2 mm is expected about the remainder of the West Coast and the south of the Pastoral districts.Monday until WednesdayIsolated showers over the agricultural area and south of the pastoral districts, scattered south of about Adelaide on Monday. Cool with fresh southwesterly winds, becoming light to moderate later in the period.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CST Thursday.Product IDS10033
