Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 13/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front will cross southern and western districts during Wednesday, bringing gusty conditions once again to the south, and is expected to reach the northeast early Thursday before continuing across the Tasman Sea. In it's wake, a high pressure system will drift across the state, maintaining generally fine conditions until the next frontal system approaches later on Friday. Current indications are that most districts will be affected by this front during Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayIsolated showers developing across the southern inland, tending scattered about western slopes of the southern ranges with snow showers above 1100 metres. Possible local thunder about the Riverina and southern slopes. Fine elsewhere, apart from the chance of an afternoon shower or two in the far northeast. West to northwesterly winds becoming fresh to strong and gusty in the south, turning southwesterly in the west through the day.Thursday 15 AugustThe chance of morning showers over the southern ranges and slopes, falling as snow above 1200 metres. South to southwesterly winds in the east, fresh at first near the coast, tending generally light and variable in the west.Friday 16 AugustThe chance of a few late showers in the far southwest, otherwise fine and generally sunny. Warmer northeast to northwesterly winds, becoming fresh and gusty in the west.Saturday 17 AugustPatchy rain in the west early, shifting towards the east through the day and increasing about western slopes of the tablelands. The chance of afternoon thunderstorms in the northeast. North to northwesterly winds ahead of a fresh and gusty west to southwesterly change extending throughout.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Wednesday.Product IDN10031
