WASHINGTON - Aug 12/13 - SNS - Summer potato production is forecast at 16.4 million cwt (100 poundn units), down 8% from 2012, according to the USDA's latest crop production estimates.
Harvested area is estimated at 45,700 acres, unchanged from the previous forecast but 6% below last year. Average yield is forecast at 358 cwt per acre, down 10 cwt from 2012.
