MELBOURNE - Aug 12/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A vigorous cold front is moving across New South Wales today, and will continue across the Tasman Sea tonight. Following this, a weak ridge of high pressure will develop across the north during Tuesday, before the next front from the South Ocean crosses on Wednesday. This pattern is forecast to repeat during the second half of the week, with another vigorous frontal system expected on the weekend. Forecast for the rest of MondayIsolated showers over southern and central districts, contracting to the southern ranges and western slopes during the evening. Snow showers over the southern ranges above 1000 metres. Fine in the north. Strong to gale force west to southwesterly winds extending throughout.Tuesday 13 AugustIsolated morning showers about the southern ranges and slopes, falling as snow above 1100 metres. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Fresh and gusty west to southwesterly winds across the south, tending generally light and variable in the north.Wednesday 14 AugustIsolated showers developing across the southern inland, tending scattered about western slopes of the southern ranges with snow showers above 1100 metres. Fine elsewhere, apart from the chance of an afternoon shower or two in the northeast. West to northwesterly winds becoming fresh and gusty in the south, turning southwesterly in the west through the day.Thursday 15 AugustThe chance of morning showers over the southern ranges and slopes, falling as snow above 1200 metres. South to southwesterly winds, fresh near the coast, tending generally light and variable in the west.Friday 16 AugustFine apart from the chance of a little rain developing across the southern inland.
