Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 12/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A ridge of high pressure will persist over inland SA through to mid week. Cold fronts are expected to move over the southern half of the State Monday evening and on Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of MondayScattered showers about southern coasts and the South East , extending over the remainder of the southern agricultural area in the evening. Possible thunderstorms and small hail in the Lower South East district. Moderate to fresh northwest to southwesterly winds, strong at times near southern coasts. Cool in the south grading to mild to warm in the far north.Tuesday 13 AugustIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area, more frequent about the ranges, contracting south then becoming scattered about southern coasts during the evening. Cool to mild with light to moderate northeast to northwesterly winds, fresh near southern coasts.Wednesday 14 AugustIsolated showers over the West Coast, agricultural area and southern pastoral districts, increasing to scattered over Kangaroo Island, the Mount Lofty Ranges and the Lower South East during the morning. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh northwesterly winds, shifting west to southwesterly during the day. Winds fresh to strong near southern coasts.Thursday 15 AugustIsolated showers about Kangaroo Island, the southern Fleurieu Peninsula and the Lower South East, chiefly during the morning. Cool to mild with generally light to moderate northeast to northerly winds.Friday 16 AugustThe chance of isolated afternoon showers on and east of the ranges. Isolated showers developing about the West Coast and central districts during the afternoon or evening. Mild to warm with fresh to strong northerly winds, ahead of a cooler moderate to fresh west to southwesterly change extending from the west during the day. Cumulative rainfall totals from Monday afternoon to midnight Friday are expected to be 10 to 30 mm over the Mount Lofty Ranges and the Lower South East, 2 to 10 mm over the agricultural area and less than 2 mm about the remainder of the West Coast and the southern Pastoral districts.Saturday until MondayIsolated showers about the West coast and agricultural area on Saturday extending into the southern pastoral districts on Sunday and Monday. Cool to mild in the south, grading to mild to warm in the north. Generally moderate to fresh northwest to southwesterly winds, strong at times near the coast. Winds easing in the north on Sunday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Tuesday.Product IDS10033
