MELBOURNE - Aug 11/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A ridge of high pressure will persist over inland SA through to mid week. Cold fronts are expected to move over the southern half of the State on Monday and Wednesday. Forecast for the rest of MondayPatchy rain over the Flinders and Northeast Pastoral districts south of about Leigh Creek, contracting eastwards and clearing during the morning. Isolated showers over the agricultural area, contracting to the Lower South East during the morning. Scattered showers re-developing over the southern agricultural area in the late afternoon and evening. Early morning fog patches west of about Ceduna. Possible thunderstorms and small hail in the Lower South East district. Moderate to fresh northwest to southwesterly winds, strong at times near southern coasts. Cool in the south grading to mild to warm in the far north.Tuesday 13 AugustIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area, more likely about the coast and ranges. Cool to mild with light to moderate northeast to northwesterly winds, fresh near southern coasts.Wednesday 14 AugustIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area, scattered over Kangaroo Island, the Mount Lofty Ranges and the Lower South East. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh northwesterly winds, shifting west to southwesterly during the day. Winds fresh to strong near southern coasts.Thursday 15 AugustIsolated showers about Kangaroo Island, the southern Fleurieu Peninsula and the Lower South East, chiefly during the morning. Cool to mild with generally light to moderate northeast to northerly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Sunday evening to midnight Thursday are expected to be 2 to 10 mm over the agricultural area, West Coast, Flinders and south of the Pastoral districts, increasing to 10 to 30 mm over the Mount Lofty Ranges and the Lower South East.Friday until SundayIsolated showers developing near southern coasts on Friday extending to the West Coast and southern agricultural area on Saturday and into the southern pastoral districts on Sunday.
