Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 9/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A weak ridge of high pressure will move from South Australia across northern Victoria later today. A cold front will move rapidly eastwards across waters south of the Bight on Sunday, reaching far southwest Victoria Sunday night. This front will sweep across the State early Monday with another rapidly moving front to follow Monday night and Tuesday morning.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayFine over the north apart from isolated morning showers about the eastern ranges and local morning fog. Isolated showers in the south, mainly about coastal areas, clearing this afternoon. Cool to mild with moderate westerly winds, fresh at times near the coast.Sunday 11 AugustDry over southern districts until showers reach the far southwest at night. Isolated light showers developing over northern districts during the morning, falling as snow above 1500 metres. A cool to mild day with moderate to fresh north to northwesterly winds.Monday 12 AugustRain areas extending eastwards during the morning before contracting to the east later. Scattered showers to follow. Isolated hail and thunder. Snow down to 900 metres. Cool to cold with a fresh to strong northwesterly wind shifting west to southwesterly from the west in the morning.Tuesday 13 AugustScattered showers in southern and mountain districts, falling as snow above 700 metres and becoming isolated ate morning. Local hail and thunder in the south in the morning. Colder fresh to strong west to southwesterly winds extending throughout.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Saturday.Product IDV10310
