Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 9/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over northern NSW is slow moving and will gradually weaken. A series of cold fronts will move over southern coasts over the next few days, ahead of a stronger front on Monday. A new high will develop over the west of the State on Monday and then move eastwards to be centred off the east coast late next week.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayPossible patchy rain developing in the far west of the West Coast district during the late afternoon and evening. Areas of morning fog. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm in the north. Light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds becoming light and variable during the day, turning northerly in the far west during the day.Sunday 11 AugustPatchy rain extending from the west over the northern agricultural area and south Pastoral districts, contracting to east of about Tarcoola late evening. Isolated showers developing over southern coasts, and possibly over the remainder of the southern agricultural area, during the day. Possible thunder near southern coasts. Mild in the south grading to warm in the north with light to moderate northeast to northwesterly winds, freshening near southern and western coasts.Monday 12 AugustPatchy rain over northern agricultural areas and southern Pastoral districts east of about Woomera, contracting eastwards and clearing by around the middle of the day. Isolated showers over the agricultural areas and West Coast district increasing to scattered showers at times over the southern agricultural area until evening. Possible thunderstorms over Kangaroo Island and the Lower South East district. Moderate to fresh north to northwesterly winds, shifting cooler, fresh to strong west to southwesterly during the morning, then easing in the evening.Tuesday 13 August
Isolated showers over the southern agricultural area, more likely about the coast. Early morning frost, mainly over the Riverland, Mid North and Flinders districts and the southern part of the North East Pastoral district. Cool to mild with mainly light northeast to northwesterly winds.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Saturday morning to midnight Tuesday are expected to be 2 to 10 mm over the agricultural area, West Coast, Flinders and south of the Pastoral districts, increasing to 10 to 30 mm over the Mount Lofty Ranges and the Lower South East.
Wednesday until FridayFine apart from isolated showers clearing from the southern coasts by the end of the period. Becoming warmer with freshening north to northwesterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CST Saturday.Product IDS10033
