MELBOURNE - Aug 7/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure system will develop over the western Tasman Sea today with showers increasing in coastal areas and wind strengthening. A high pressure system will move in behind the low, extending across northeastern NSW on Friday as a cold front sweeps across the southeast of the state. Another high will move across northern parts of the state over the weekend. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers over the eastern half of the state, contracting to the coast during the day. Showers tending scattered along the coastal fringe with possible isolated thunderstorms. Showers falling as snow on the ranges above about 1000m. Fine and mostly sunny in the west. South to southwesterly winds, strong along the coast.Friday 9 AugustMorning fog and frosts. Isolated showers over the southern inland and coast. Fine remainder. Southerly winds in the northeast. North to northwesterly winds in the south and west.Saturday 10 AugustMorning fog and frosts. Isolated showers over the southern ranges and southwestern slopes. Fine remainder. West to northwest winds, tending south to southwest in the west and south.Sunday 11 AugustA chance of isolated showers in the far west. Fine remainder.
