Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 7/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the north of the State will drift over the east of the continent on Thursday. A series of cold fronts will move over the south of the state on Friday and through the weekend.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayIsolated showers over the South East districts contracting south and clearing near midnight. Fine and mostly clear elsewhere. Moderate to fresh southwesterly winds easing during the evening and turning northerly in the west.Thursday 8 AugustCool to cold at first with early fog patches and areas of frost in the east. Cloud increasing in the south during the day with isolated showers developing south of about Port Lincoln to Keith during the afternoon and evening with possible evening showers extending over remaining parts of the southern agricultural area during the evening. Showers becoming scattered over the Lower South east late in the evening. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm in the northwest with light to moderate northerly winds extending throughout, fresh at times in the west.Friday 9 AugustIsolated showers extending over the agricultural area and West Coast district with possible isolated light showers extending north over the south of the Pastorals easing during the evening. Showers tending to scattered over the Lower South East district during the morning and early afternoon. Mild to warm with mainly moderate north to northwesterly winds ahead of a southwesterly change in the west during the morning extending east to reach then Northeast Pastoral district late evening .Saturday 10 AugustPossible isolated showers over the agricultural areas, West Coast district and the south of the Northwest Pastoral district. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm in the north with light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds becoming light and variable during the day.Sunday 11 AugustIsolated showers in the west extending east over the south of the Pastoral districts and the agricultural areas, becoming scattered over Kangaroo Island and the Lower South East late evening. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh northwest to southwesterly winds, possibly strong about southern coasts. Cumulative rainfall totals from Wednesday afternoon to midnight Sunday are expected to be 2 to 5 mm over the southern agricultural area and West Coast district, increasing to 5 to 15 mm over Kangaroo Island, the Mt Lofty Ranges and the Lower South East. Less than 2 mm is expected over the northern agricultural area and southern Pastorals.Monday until WednesdayIsolated showers over the agricultural areas and the south of the Pastorals, tending to scattered showers over the southern agricultural area, easing through the period and contracting to the agricultural areas. Cool in the south grading to warm in the north with light to moderate southwest to northwesterly winds, fresh to strong at times about the coast.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Thursday.Product IDS10033
