MELBOURNE - Aug 6/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over central Australia extends a ridge into northern New South Wales. A cold front is over central New South Wales will continue to bring showery conditions to southern and central parts today as it continues moving to the northeast. Following this, a trough appears likely to remain over the Tasman Sea for the next couple of days, while the next high moves in from the west. Another weak cold front is expected to sweep across the southeast of the state on Friday. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayMorning fog and frosts. Isolated showers across much of the state, more likely over the southern ranges and central inland. The chance of thunderstorms over the southern ranges. Fine and partly cloudy in the far northeast and northwest. Cooler south to southwesterly winds extending throughout.Thursday 8 AugustMorning fog and frosts. Isolated showers along the coast and adjacent northern ranges. Fine elsewhere. South to southwesterly winds.Friday 9 AugustMorning fog and frosts. Isolated showers over the southern inland and coast. Fine remainder. Southerly winds in the northeast. North to northwesterly winds in the south and west.Saturday 10 AugustMorning fog and frosts. Isolated showers over the southern ranges and southwestern slopes.
