MELBOURNE - Aug 6/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system is developing over the north of the State while a weak cold front moves across from the eastern Bight today. The high will drift over the east of the continent on Thursday. A series of cold fronts will move over the south later on Friday and through the weekend. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayIsolated showers about the agricultural areas and southern pastoral districts, scattered during the morning over the Riverland and South East. Early fog patches. Cool in the south grading to warm in the far north. Moderate northwest to southwesterly winds, becoming light and variable then moderate northerly in the west.Thursday 8 AugustA fine day apart from early fog patches. Cloud increasing in the south later in the day with a possible isolated light showers during the evening about Kangaroo Island and the Lower South East. Mild to warm with moderate to fresh northerly winds shifting moderate westerly in the far west during the evening.Friday 9 AugustIsolated showers developing about southern coasts with cloudy conditions and possible light showers extending over the agricultural area and south of the pastoral districts. Showers becoming scattered over the Lower South East during the evening. Mild to warm with moderate to fresh northwest to westerly winds.Saturday 10 AugustIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area, with possible light showers clearing from the northern agricultural area and south of the pastorals. Mild with moderate to fresh northwest to southwesterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Wednesday to midnight Saturday are expected to be 2 to 5 mm over the agricultural areas and southern pastorals, increasing to 5 to 15 mm over the southern agricultural area and parts of the Riverland, with possible falls of 15 to 25 mm over the southern Mount Lofty Ranges and Lower South East.Sunday until TuesdayIsolated showers developing south of Woomera, tending scattered at times on Sunday and Monday over the agricultural areas. Showers contracting to southern coasts and becoming isolated on Tuesday.
