Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 5/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over central Australia extends a ridge into northern New South Wales. A cold front is expected to traverse southern New South Wales on Tuesday, delivering a burst of showery and windy weather to southern and central parts before continuing to the northeast during Wednesday. Following this, a trough appears likely to remain over the Tasman Sea through to the end of the week, while the next high moves in from the west.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayPatchy rain developing across the southern inland, becoming more widespread on the western slopes of the southern ranges and extending to central districts later. Snow on the Alps above 1600 metres lowering to above 1200 metres by the evening. Possible late showers about the southern and central coast. The chance of thunderstorms over the southern slopes and Alpine area near the Victorian border. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. West to northwesterly winds, strong and gusty across southern and central districts, turning southwesterly in the south later.Wednesday 7 AugustMorning fog and frosts. Isolated showers in the north and east. Fine and partly cloudy in the southwest. Cooler south to southwesterly winds extending throughout.Thursday 8 AugustMorning fog and frosts. Isolated showers along the central and northern coasts, and adjacent ranges. Fine elsewhere. Southeast to southwesterly winds.Friday 9 AugustMorning fog and frosts. Isolated showers over the southeastern inland. Fine remainder. Southerly winds in the northeast.
