MELBOURNE - Aug 5/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A cold front over the Bight will move across the south of the State this evening. The front will continue to move east on Tuesday as a high pressure system develops over the north of the State and moves slowly east on Wednesday. Another front will move over the south later on Friday. Forecast for the rest of MondayIsolated showers extending northwards over the agricultural area during the evening. Showers increasing to scattered about southern agricultural area with possible isolated gusty thunderstorms in the evening over Kangaroo Island, southern Fleurieu Peninsula and the South East districts. Mild to warm with moderate to fresh north to northwesterly winds, strong about southern coasts, turning west to southwest in the west and far south this evening.Tuesday 6 AugustScattered showers over the southern agricultural area and far south of the Flinders district, becoming isolated in the afternoon, with isolated showers elsewhere south of about Woomera. Cool in the south, grading to warm in the north. Moderate to fresh west to northwest winds, turning southwesterly, strong about southern coasts.Wednesday 7 AugustIsolated showers about the southern about southern coastal districts, mainly during the morning. Cool in the south grading to warm in the far north. Moderate south to southwest winds, becoming light and variable then moderate northerly in the west.Thursday 8 AugustFine apart from early fog patches in the east. Mild to warm with moderate to fresh northerly winds shifting moderate westerly in the far west during the evening.Friday 9 AugustIsolated showers developing about southern coasts with cloudy conditions and possible light showers extending over the agricultural area and south of the pastoral districts. Mild to warm with moderate to fresh northwest to westerly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Monday to midnight Friday are expected to be 2 to 5 mm over the agricultural areas and southern pastorals, increasing to 5 to 15 mm over the southern agricultural area, with possible falls of 15 to 25 mm over the southern Mount Lofty Ranges and Lower South East.Saturday until MondayIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area, with possible light showers clearing from the northern agricultural area and south of the pastorals. Scattered showers over the Lower South East early on Saturday. Isolated showers about southern coasts on Sunday then extending over the agricultural areas again on Monday.
