Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 3/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A ridge of high pressure lies over northern New South Wales, while a cold front is moving through southeastern NSW into the Tasman Sea. This front is bringing showers to the western slopes of the ranges, and a period of more vigorous winds across southern and central areas. Conditions will ease somewhat later Sunday and Monday as the front moves further away and the ridge briefly becomes dominant. The next front is forecast to traverse the region during Tuesday, delivering another burst of showery and windy weather to southern and central parts .
Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers across the southern inland, more widespread on the western slopes of the southern ranges but easing during the day. Showers falling as snow above 1200 metres. The chance of early showers about the southern and central coasts. Fine and partly cloudy across the northern half of the state. West to southwesterly winds, fresh to strong and gusty across southern and central districts.Monday 5 AugustIsolated showers about the western slopes of the southern ranges, falling as snow above about 1300 metres. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. West to northwesterly winds, fresh and gusty across southern and central districts.Tuesday 6 AugustIsolated showers across the southern inland, becoming more widespread on the western slopes of the southern ranges and extending to central districts later. Snow on the Alps above 1200 metres. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. West to northwesterly winds, fresh and gusty across southern and central districts, turning southwesterly later.Wednesday 7 AugustThe chance of showers in the north and east, contracting to the coast later in the day. Fine in the southwest. South to southwesterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Sunday.Product IDN10031
