Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 2/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front crossed Victoria last night. Another cold front will reach southwest Victoria this afternoon and clear the far east early Sunday morning. Yet another front will reach southwest Victoria Monday night and will move quickly across the State on Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayScattered showers near the coast and isolated showers over the eastern ranges. A band of rain developing over the southwest during the afternoon reaching central districts by the evening and eastern districts at night. Isolated showers south of the ranges following the rain, mainly near the coast. Snowfalls above 900 metres. Isolated thunderstorms and small hail possible near the western and central coasts from the evening. A cool and partly cloudy day with fresh to strong west to northwesterly winds, reaching gale force over elevated areas later in the day.Sunday 4 AugustScattered showers near and south of the ranges tending more isolated over parts of Gippsland and the northern plains. Showers falling as snow above 1100 metres. A cool day with moderate to fresh westerly winds tending northwesterly later in the west.Monday 5 AugustIsolated showers near and south of the ranges, scattered near the central and western coasts and falling as snow above 1500 metres. The chance of showers in the far northwest. A mild day with moderate northwesterly winds, strengthening in the west.Tuesday 6 AugustScattered showers in the west extending across southern and mountain areas during the day. Isolated showers over the northern plains with just the chance in the Mallee. Snow showers above 1400metres. A mild day with moderate northwesterly winds shifting west to southwesterly during the day.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Saturday.Product IDV10310
