Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 2/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A ridge of high pressure will lie over northern NSW over the next few days as a series of cold fronts pass over the south of the state. The passage of each front will bring an increase in shower activity for the southern inland, particularly the western slopes of the ranges, and a period of stronger winds for southern and central areas, reaching strong to gale force on the southern ranges. The next front will cross Saturday night/early Sunday, then another frontal passage is likely on Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers across the southern inland, increasing to rain late in the day, and falling as snow above 1200 metres. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. West to northwesterly winds, fresh across southern districts and becoming strong to gale force about the southern ranges later.Sunday 4 AugustIsolated showers across the southern inland, more widespread on the western slopes of the southern ranges but easing during the day. Showers falling as snow above about 1100 metres. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. West to southwesterly winds, fresh and gusty across southern and central districts.Monday 5 AugustIsolated showers across the southern inland, more widespread on the western slopes of the southern ranges and falling as snow above about 1300 metres. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. West to northwesterly winds, fresh and gusty across southern and central districts.Tuesday 6 AugustIsolated showers across the southern inland, more widespread on the western slopes of the southern ranges and falling as snow above about 1300 metres.
