Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 1/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure ridge extends over central Australia with a high moving across the north of SA during the weekend. A cold front will move across the south overnight tonight and on Friday, followed by further fronts on Saturday and Monday night.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayFine day over central and eastern parts of the State with isolated showers developing west of Ceduna to Kingscote to Mount Gambier this evening. Possible thunderstorms about the West Coast, Lower Eyre Peninsula and Kangaroo Island. Light to moderate northerly winds, freshening about southern and western coasts.Friday 2 AugustIsolated showers extending across the agricultural area, increasing to scattered showers about the southern agricultural area for the morning. Possible isolated thunderstorms about western and southern coasts. Possible light morning frost in the northern agricultural area and southern Pastoral districts. Moderate north to northwesterly winds freshening during the morning ahead of a southwesterly change extending throughout during the day. Winds strong at times about the coasts.Saturday 3 AugustIsolated showers over the agricultural area becoming scattered over the southern agricultural area during the afternoon. Possible small hail over the South East districts. Possible thunderstorms over southern waters. Cool with light to moderate south to southwesterly winds tending westerly in the south and freshening during the day and tending strong at times about southern coasts.Sunday 4 AugustIsolated showers over the agricultural area contracting south during the day. Cool with light to moderate southeast to southwesterly winds.Monday 5 August
Isolated showers south of about Port Lincoln to Keith. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm in the north. Moderate northwesterly winds freshening about coastal parts.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Thursday afternoon to midnight Monday are expected to be up to 5 mm over the southern Pastoral districts, the northern agricultural area and the West Coast district, increasing to 5 to 15 mm over the southern agricultural area. Falls of 10 to 30 mm are likely about the Mount Lofty Ranges and the southern coasts.
Tuesday until ThursdayFine apart from possible isolated showers about southern agricultural areas contracting to the Lower South East during the period. Fine throughout on Thursday. Generally mild. light to moderate southerly winds turning northerly by Thursday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Friday.Product IDS10033
