Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jul 31/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over Victoria will move over the Tasman Sea on Thursday. A cold front will move across the west of the State late on Thursday then over the remainder on Friday. A second front will move across southern parts of the State on Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayFine. Partly cloudy in the south, clear in the north. Light and variable winds, tending moderate northerly in the far west and south.Thursday 1 AugustEarly frost and fog over eastern districts then a fine day. Light to moderate northerly winds, freshening about southern and western coasts.Friday 2 AugustIsolated showers extending across the agricultural area and West Coast district during the morning then contracting to Kangaroo Island and the Lower South East in the evening. Showers tending scattered about the southern agricultural area at first then contracting to the Lower South East during the morning and becoming isolated by early afternoon. Possible isolated thunderstorms about western and southern coasts and possible small hail over the southeast districts. Moderate north to northwesterly winds freshening during the morning ahead of a southwesterly change extending throughout during the day. Winds strong at times about the coasts.Saturday 3 AugustIsolated showers over the agricultural area becoming scattered over the southern agricultural area during the afternoon and evening. Cool with light to moderate south to southwesterly winds tending westerly in the south and freshening during the day and tending strong at times about southern coasts.Sunday 4 AugustIsolated showers over the agricultural area contracting south during the day. Cool with light to moderate southeast to southwesterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Wednesday afternoon to midnight Sunday are expected to be 1 to 5 mm over the northern agricultural area and Eyre Peninsula, increasing to 2 to 10 mm over the southern agricultural area. Falls of 10 to 15 mm are expected over the Mount Lofty Ranges and southern coasts with possible isolated falls of up to 20 mm. Less than 2 mm is expected over the remainder of the West Coast and the south of the pastoral districts.Monday until WednesdayIsolated showers south of about Keith possibly extending north during Tuesday and Wednesday to be south of Wudinna to Renmark. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm in the north with mainly moderate northwest to southwest winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Thursday.Product IDS10033
