MELBOURNE - Jul 30/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure trough and a cold front are moving across eastern New South Wales and a high pressure system is moving east of Bight extending a ridge behind the front. The ridge will weaken during Thursday as anther cold front approaches the western border of the state. This front is expected to cross the state on Friday with another weaker front to follow Sunday. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms in the northeast and and on the south coast and ranges. Snow above 1600 metres on the Alps. Partly cloudy elsewhere. A south to southwesterly change extending throughout, freshening along the southern coast.Wednesday 31 JulyIsolated showers on the north and central coasts and adjacent ranges clearing from the south in the morning. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Early fog and frost areas, mainly over the ranges and southern inland. South to southeasterly winds.Thursday 1 AugustIsolated showers along northern half of the coast, contracting further north. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Early fog and frosts, mainly over the slopes and ranges and over the southern inland. South to southeasterly winds.Friday 2 AugustPatchy rain developing over the southern inland and tending to rain areas on the western slopes of the far southern ranges with snow showers above 1300 metres. Partly cloudy elsewhere. North to northwesterly winds, turning fresh westerly in the west later.Saturday 3 AugustIsolated showers in the southern inland tending scattered on the western slopes of the far southern ranges with snow showers above 1200 metres. Partly cloudy elsewhere.
