Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jul 30/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high over the west of the State will move southeastwards over Victoria on Wednesday. A cold front will move across the west of the State late on Thursday then over the remainder on Friday.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayPossible isolated showers about the southern coasts. Mainly light and variable winds.Wednesday 31 JulyEarly frost over the Mid North and Flinders. Possible isolated morning showers about Kangaroo Island and the Lower South East coast. Fine elsewhere. Cool to mild with light and variable winds, tending moderate northerly in the far west and south.Thursday 1 AugustEarly frost over eastern districts then a fine day. Light to moderate northerly winds, freshening about southern and western coasts.Friday 2 AugustScattered showers extending over the southern agricultural area during the early morning then contracting to the ranges and Lower South East by midday before easing to isolated showers early evening. Isolated showers extending across the remainder of the agricultural area and southern pastorals. Possible isolated thunderstorms about western and southern coasts and possible small hail over Kangaroo Island and the southeast districts. Moderate north to northwesterly winds freshening during the morning ahead of a southwesterly change extending throughout during the day. Winds strong at times about the coasts.Saturday 3 AugustIsolated showers over the agricultural area becoming scattered over the southern agricultural area during the afternoon and evening. Cool with light to moderate south to southwesterly winds tending westerly in the south and freshening during the day and tending strong at times about southern coasts. Cumulative rainfall totals from Tuesday afternoon to midnight Saturday are expected to be 2 to 10 mm over the agricultural area, increasing to 10 to 15 mm over the Mount Lofty Ranges and southern coasts with possible isolated falls of up to 20 mm. Less than 2 mm is expected over the south of the pastoral districts.Sunday until TuesdayIsolated showers over the agricultural area contracting south and clearing by Monday afternoon then re- developing south of about Lameroo to Wudinna on Tuesday. Cool at first then warming through the period with southeast to southwester winds gradually becoming northerly during the period.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Wednesday.Product IDS10033
