MELBOURNE - Jul 29/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A cold front will move through southern Victoria tonight and Tuesday morning. The next high pressure system will move over Victoria Tuesday night and during Wednesday. The high will weaken on Thursday with the next cold front moving across Victoria on Friday. Forecast for the rest of MondayIsolated showers over the west and northeast ranges, extending into central districts later tonight and becoming scattered over the southwest. Moderate northwesterly winds ahead of a cooler southwesterly change entering the far southwest during the evening.Tuesday 30 JulyShowers clearing from the northwest early morning and becoming isolated elsewhere before contracting to the coast during the evening. Showers falling as snow above 1500 metres by the afternoon. A cooler day with moderate southwest to southerly winds extending throughout during the morning.Wednesday 31 JulyLocal morning fog and frost, then a fine and mostly sunny day apart from areas of high cloud in the west. Light winds tending light to moderate northerly across western districts during the afternoon.Thursday 1 AugustMorning fog and frost patches, mainly in the north and east. A dry, cool to mild and mostly sunny day with light wind tending moderate northerly over western and central districts.Friday 2 AugustScattered showers developing over most districts, more isolated over east Gippsland and the far north. Isolated thunderstorms possible over the west.
