MELBOURNE - Jul 29/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A cold front will move through southern Victoria tonight and Tuesday morning. The next high pressure system will move over Victoria Tuesday night and during Wednesday. The high will weaken on Thursday as the next cold front approaches from the west. Forecast for the rest of MondayAreas of rain and local thunderstorms over the northeast clearing in the morning. Isolated showers developing elsewhere during the afternoon, but mostly dry over the far northwest and also over East Gippsland. Showers increasing over the southwest and along the central coast during the evening. Generally mild and partly cloudy with moderate to locally fresh northwesterly winds, strong about the Alps during the morning. A colder southwesterly change entering the far southwest during the evening.Tuesday 30 JulyShowers clearing from the northwest early morning and becoming isolated elsewhere before contracting to the coast during the evening. Showers falling as snow above 1500 metres by the afternoon. A cooler day with moderate southwest to southerly winds extending throughout during the morning.Wednesday 31 JulyLocal morning fog and frost, then a fine, cool and mostly sunny day with light winds tending light to moderate northerly across western districts during the afternoon.Thursday 1 AugustMorning fog and frost patches, mainly in the north and east.
