MELBOURNE - Jul 23/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system centred near the western Victorian border will drift eastwards overnight and will be centred near northeast Victoria on Thursday and Friday. A weak cold front will clip the far southwest of Victoria Thursday night before heading southeastwards across Bass Strait on Friday. On Saturday the high will move over the Tasman Sea and a cold front will develop over the Bight. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayMorning fog and frost patches over the northeast. Isolated light showers or drizzle patches in the south contracting to Gippsland this morning then gradually clearing during the afternoon. Cool with generally light to moderate south to southwesterly winds, fresh about the ranges.Thursday 25 JulyMorning frost and fog patches then fine during the day. Isolated showers developing over the southwest at night. A cool to mild day with light to moderate north to northwesterly winds.Friday 26 JulyIsolated showers in the southwest and also near the central coast during the morning. Fine elsewhere apart from early fog and frosts. A cool to mild day with a light to moderate north to northwesterly wind, fresh at times in the south.Saturday 27 JulyFine after morning fog and frost patches in the east.
