Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jul 21/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low 1005 hPa over the north of the Lower South East coastal waters will move slowly northwards then weaken as it moves northeastwards across the Upper South East district overnight and into Victoria on Monday. A high will ridge in over the Bight during Monday then move slowly eastwards reaching Adelaide on Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers and possible small hail south of about Woomera to Yunta, increasing to scattered showers over the agricultural area. Showers more widespread with possible local thunder about southern coasts and ranges and the west coast of Eyre Peninsula. Possible light snow about the higher peaks of the Flinders Ranges. Cold to very cold with mainly moderate to fresh northwest to southwesterly winds.Monday 22 JulyIsolated showers south of about Woomera to Yunta, increasing to scattered showers over the southern agricultural area. Early morning frost patches on and east of the Flinders Ranges and in the far northwest. Possible morning fog patches in the South East. Cold with moderating southwest to southerly winds.Tuesday 23 JulyIsolated showers over the agricultural area, contracting to southern coasts by the evening. Possible morning fog patches. Early morning frost patches on and east of the Flinders Ranges. Cool with light to moderate south to southeasterly winds.Wednesday 24 JulyFine apart from possible early morning fog patches. Early morning frost patches on and east of the ranges. Cool with mainly light winds.Thursday 25 JulyIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area. Cool to mild with mainly light winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Sunday afternoon through to midnight Thursday are expected to be 10 to 20 mm over Adelaide and the Mount Lofty Ranges, the west of the Mid North, York Peninsula, Kangaroo Island, and the west coast of Eyre Peninsula with local falls of 20 to 30 mm about the coasts and ranges. Generally less than 5 mm is expected elsewhere.Friday until SundayIsolated showers possible about southern and western coastal districts, extending to the agricultural area and West Coast district on Sunday and increasing to scattered showers over the south of the Lower South East district. Cool to mild with northerly winds increasing ahead of a westerly change developing on Sunday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Monday.Product IDS10033
