Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jul 20/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough associated with a complex low pressure system south of Tasmania is moving across the south bringing a significant cold outbreak in its wake. The main centre of the low will deepen over the southwestern Tasman Sea and move slowly south-southeast during Sunday and Monday as a high pressure system moves near the Bight extending a ridge across west and northeast of the state. This high is expected to be centred over southeastern Australia on Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of SundayCold. Isolated showers in the southeastern inland tending scattered on the western slopes of the far southern ranges. Early snow showers above about 700 metres on the southern ranges, and above 900 metres on the central ranges. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Southwest to northwesterly winds, fresh and gusty across the south.Monday 22 JulyCold. Isolated showers over the southern inland, tending scattered on the western slopes of the southern ranges with early snow showers above 1000 metres. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Southwest to northwesterly winds, fresh and gusty in the south.Tuesday 23 JulyIsolated showers on the western slopes of the southern and central ranges. The chance of late showers on the central coast. Snow showers above 1200 metres on the Alps. Mostly sunny elsewhere. South to southwesterly winds.Wednesday 24 JulyIsolated coastal showers possibly extending to the eastern ranges in the north. Partly cloudy elsewhere.
