Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jul 19/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure system developing to the west of Tasmania will move northwards to be centred over the Lower South East district on Sunday morning, before moving eastwards. A high will ridge in over the Bight during Monday then move slowly eastwards to be centred near Adelaide later Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers south of about Broken Hill to Coober Pedy, tending to scattered showers over the agricultural area and West Coast district with small hail and possible isolated thunderstorms. Showers tending widespread over the southern agricultural area. Possible snow on the higher peaks of the Mount Lofty Ranges, Mid North and Flinders districts. Cold to very cold with fresh to strong southwest to southerly winds.Sunday 21 JulyIsolated showers south of about Renmark to Leigh Creek to Coober Pedy, tending to scattered showers with small hail over the agricultural area with possible snow about the higher peaks of the Mid-North and the Flinders districts. Showers and possible isolated thunderstorms about southern coasts. Cold to very cold with fresh southwest to southerly winds, strong near the coasts.Monday 22 JulyIsolated showers south of about Woomera to Renmark, tending to scattered showers over the southern agricultural area. Cold with moderating southwest to southeasterly winds.Tuesday 23 JulyIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area and western coasts, contracting southwards during the day. Cool with light winds. Cumulative rainfall totals for the period from Saturday morning through to midnight Tuesday are expected to be 5 to 10 mm over the northern agricultural area, increasing to 15 to 30 mm over the southern agricultural area, Mid North and southern Flinders and near western coasts. Falls of 30 to 50 mm are possible over the Mount Lofty Ranges, the south of the Flinders Ranges, the Mount Lofty Ranges and ocean coasts east of Elliston. southern coasts and the Mount Lofty Ranges. Less than 5 mm is expected over areas further to the north.Wednesday until FridayEarly frost on and east of the ranges, then fine on Wednesday. Isolated showers over the southern agricultural area on Thursday and Friday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CST Saturday.Product IDS10033
