Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jul 18/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A deep low south of Mount Gambier is moving slowly eastwards and will reach the southern Tasman sea later Sunday or Monday. A high southwest of WA will also move slowly eastwards to be west of the Bight later Sunday, then move over the west of the State on Monday.
Forecast for the rest of FridayScattered showers over the agricultural area with isolated showers extending northwards to reach areas south of Coober Pedy to Broken Hill. Showers becoming heavier and more frequent over the southern agricultural area in the evening with possible small hail and thunder. Cool to cold. Fresh to strong and gusty southwest to southerly winds.Saturday 20 JulyIsolated showers south of about Broken Hill to Coober Pedy, increasing to scattered showers over the agricultural area and Flinders and West Coast districts. Showers increasing further to widespread over the southern agricultural area with small hail and possible thunder. Possible snow on the higher peaks of the Mount Lofty Ranges, Mid North and Flinders districts. Cold to very cold with fresh southwest to southerly winds.Sunday 21 JulyIsolated showers south of about Renmark to Leigh Creek to Coober Pedy, increasing to scattered showers over the southern agricultural area with small hail and possible thunder. Showers increasing further to widespread near southern coasts and the southern Mount Lofty Ranges, with possible thunder. Cold with fresh southwest to southerly winds.Monday 22 JulyIsolated showers south of about Woomera to Renmark, increasing to scattered showers over the southern agricultural area. Cold with moderating southwest to southeasterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals for the period from Friday morning through to midnight Monday are expected to be 5 to 10 mm over the northern agricultural area, increasing to 15 to 30 mm over the southern agricultural area, Mid North and southern Flinders and near western coasts. Falls of 50 to 80 mm are possible over southern coasts and the Mount Lofty Ranges. Less than 2 mm is expected over areas further to the north.Tuesday until ThursdayIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area and western coasts, contracting southwards during the day. Fine on Wednesday, then isolated showers extending over western and southern districts on Thursday. Cool to cold at first, becoming milder on Wednesday and Thursday. Light winds, turning moderate northerly from the west on Wednesday and Thursday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CST Friday.Product IDS10033
