Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jul 17/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A deep low south of the Bight will begin to weaken as it moves southeastwards to be over the Tasman Sea on Saturday. A high will develop south of the Bight during the later part of the weekend.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayAreas of rain and possible isolated thunderstorms east of about Woomera to Clare contracting east and clearing by early afternoon. Fine periods initially following the rain before isolated showers develop from the west over the agricultural area and southern pastoral districts. Showers are more likely to be scattered about coastal districts and the ranges later in the day with possible isolated thunderstorms about coastal fringes. Cool to mild with fresh to strong and gusty northwest to southwesterly winds.Friday 19 JulyShowers about southern coasts and ranges with scattered showers over remaining agricultural areas and isolated showers extending over the Pastoral districts south of about Coober Pedy and Leigh Creek. Possible thunderstorms with small hail in the south. Cool to cold. Fresh to strong and gusty southwest to southerly winds.Saturday 20 JulyShowers about southern coasts and ranges gradually easing later in the day. Isolated showers over remaining agricultural areas easing later. Possible thunderstorms with small hail in the south. Cold with moderating southerly winds.Sunday 21 JulyScattered showers about southern coasts and ranges, easing. Isolated showers over remaining agricultural areas and the southern Pastoral districts. Cool with moderate southwest to southeasterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals for Thursday morning through to midnight Sunday are expected to range from less than 5 mm over the pastoral districts, 5 to 15 mm over the northern agricultural area and West Coast and 15 to 30 mm about southern agricultural areas. Falls totalling 30 to 50 mm are possible about the southern coasts and the Mount Lofty Ranges.Monday until WednesdayIsolated showers about southern agricultural areas gradually contracting south and clearing early next week. Fine conditions are forecast around middle of next week. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh southerly winds turning light to moderate northerly in the west later in the period.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CST Thursday.Product IDS10033
