Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jul 14/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A strong, slow-moving high pressure system over Tasman Sea extends a ridge over eastern parts of New South Wales. A low pressure trough lies through the west of the state is forecast to move through southern parts of the state during Monday and Tuesday, before weakening and slipping to the south. A more vigorous trough and associated cold front is expected to cross the state towards the end of the week.
Forecast for the rest of MondayRain areas from the central north to the western slopes of the central and southern ranges. Isolated showers most remaining districts though fine in the far southwest. Isolated thunderstorms possible in the west of the state. Morning fog over far western parts of the state and on northern and central ranges, as well as in the northeast. Northwest to northeasterly winds.Tuesday 16 JulyPatchy rain or isolated showers over central and eastern parts of the state, more widespread over the western slopes of the central and southern ranges but easing during the day. Fine in the west. Light and variable winds in the west, and northeast to northwesterly winds in the east.Wednesday 17 JulyIsolated showers on the far north coast and about the western slopes of the southern ranges. Fine remainder. Northerly winds, freshening in the west.Thursday 18 JulyRain areas in the west, extending to the central and southern ranges later. Early showers on the north coast otherwise fine. Northerly winds freshening and tending more westerly in the west.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Monday.Product IDN10031
