Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jul 13/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A strong, slow-moving high pressure system over Tasman Sea extends a ridge to northwestern New South Wales. A low pressure trough will move across the west and south of the state during the next day or two, before weakening and slipping to the south. A more vigorous trough and associated cold front is expected to cross the state towards the end of the week.
Forecast for the rest of SundayMorning fog patches in the east. Rain areas and isolated thunderstorms in the west with patchy rain extending to central and southeastern parts during the day. Rain easing in the far west in the afternoon. The chance of showers on the coastal fringe in the far north. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Light and variable winds near northern and central parts of the coast, and northeast to northwesterly winds elsewhere, freshening over the western inland.Monday 15 JulyRain areas inland, extending to the central and southern coast during the day, while clearing closer to the South Australian border. Rain lighter and patchier east of the Divide. The chance of a shower or two along the coastal fringe in the far north. Morning fog over far western parts of the state. Northwest to northeasterly winds.Tuesday 16 JulyRain over central western parts of the state, becoming patchy during the day. Isolated showers over the coastal fringe in the far north. Fine elsewhere. Light and variable winds in the west, and northeast to northwesterly winds in the east.Wednesday 17 JulyIsolated showers on the far north coast and about the western slopes of the southern ranges. Fine remainder until rain develops in the far southwest late. Northerly winds, freshening in the west.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Sunday.Product IDN10031
