MELBOURNE - Jul 11/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A strong, semi-stationary high pressure system over the southern Tasman Sea extends a ridge to the central part of the NSW coast. During Sunday and Monday a low pressure trough and associated patchy rain band will move slowly over the west of the state as a low pressure system south of the Bight slips to the southeast. Computer model guidance suggests a vigorous cold front will cross the state next Wednesday/Thursday. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers on the north coast and over the central north. Mostly clear elsewhere. Southeast to northeasterly winds.Friday 12 JulyMorning fog areas, mostly in the east. Isolated showers on the northern coast. Patchy rain over the southern and central inland. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Southeast to northeasterly winds in the north, and northeast to northwesterly winds across the south.Saturday 13 JulyMorning fog patches in the east. Patchy rain over the southern inland. Isolated showers possible on the north coast. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Light and variable winds in the east, tending northerly in the west.Sunday 14 JulyPatchy rain in the west, extending to central and southeast parts during the day and increasing to areas of rain in the southwest later. Isolated showers in the far north coast. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Light and variable winds near northern and central parts of the coast. Northeast to northwest winds elsewhere.Monday 15 Julyrain areas on and west of the ranges, clearing in the southwest. Isolated showers along much of the coast.
