Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jul 11/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high will remain stationary over the Tasman Sea area during this week. A low pressure system will develop over the western Bight later on Friday, then move southeastwards south of the Bight on Saturday, with a weak front moving across western coasts on Sunday. A middle level trough will produce a band of rain moving across the State.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayPatchy rain extending eastwards over western districts, reaching eastern Eyre Peninsula during the evening, increasing to areas of rain and isolated thunderstorms west of about Tarcoola. Cool to mild with light to moderate north to northeasterly winds.Friday 12 JulyPatchy rain south and west of a line Giles to Marree, increasing to areas of rain south of Woomera to Renmark with widespread rain and isolated thunderstorms west of Ceduna. Cool to cold over rain affected areas, mild further north, grading to warm in the far north. Light to moderate northeast to northerly winds, fresh at times in the west.Saturday 13 JulyAreas of rain over most districts except the far northeast, tending widespread over Eyre Peninsula and Kangaroo Island in the morning, then clearing over western districts during the day. Isolated thunderstorms extending over areas west of Oodnadatta to Leigh Creek to Goolwa and clearing from the west. Warm in the far northeast, cold in the southeast, cool to mild elsewhere. Fresh and gusty northeast to northwest winds.Sunday 14 JulyAreas of rain and isolated thunderstorms over the eastern half of the State, contracting eastwards and clearing to the northeast by late evening. Isolated showers persisting over the agricultural area, west coast and far south of the pastorals, tending scattered about the west coast of Eyre Peninsula and Kangaroo Island. Warm in the far northeast, cool to mild elsewhere. Moderate northwest to southwest winds.Monday 15 JulyAreas of rain and isolated thunderstorms northeast of about Marree, contracting northeast and clearing. Isolated showers over the agricultural area and far south of the pastorals, tending scattered in the morning south of Adelaide, contracting southwards to southern coasts in the evening. Cool to mild with mainly light winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Thursday afternoon to midnight Monday are expected to be 25 to 45 mm over the southern agricultural area, southwest of the Northwest Pastoral and the West Coast district east of Fowlers Bay. 15 to 25 mm over the northern agricultural area and far south of the pastoral districts, and less than 15 mm over the remainder of the pastorals, grading to less than 5 mm along the northern border.Tuesday until ThursdayIsolated showers about southern coasts clearing early Tuesday. Scattered showers extending across the State during Wednesday, contracting to the agricultural area on Thursday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Friday.Product IDS10033
