Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jul 10/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high will remain stationary over the Tasman Sea area during this week. A low pressure system will develop near the western border later on Friday, then move eastwards over the Bight on Saturday, before weakening and moving southeastwards on Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayPatchy rain developing in the far northwest of the Northwest Pastoral late evening. A cool to cold evening with light to moderate north to northeasterly winds.Thursday 11 JulyEarly frost patches over and to the east of the Mount Lofty and Flinders ranges. Patchy rain extending eastwards over western districts, reaching eastern Eyre Peninsula during the evening, increasing to areas of rain west of about Coober Pedy. A cool to mild day with light to moderate north to northeasterly winds.Friday 12 JulyPatchy rain south and west of a line Broken Hill to Marla, increasing to areas of rain in a band to the north of about Keith and south of Tarcoola to Renmark. Cool to cold over rain affected areas, mild further north. Light to moderate northeast to northerly winds.Saturday 13 JulyAreas of rain over most districts except the far northeast, clearing over western districts during the day. Isolated thunderstorms developing over areas west of Oodnadatta to Port Augusta to Kingscote, clearing west of the rain band. Mainly moderate northeast to northwesterly winds. Mild to warm in the far northeast, otherwise cool to cold throughout. Cumulative rainfall totals from Wednesday afternoon to midnight Saturday are expected to be 15 to 40 mm over the Northwest Pastoral, West Coast and Eyre Peninsula districts, with 5 to 20 mm expected over the remainder of the agricultural area, easing to 2 to 10 mm in the remainder of the Flinders, Riverland and Northeast Pastoral districts.Sunday 14 JulyAreas of rain over the eastern half of the State, contracting eastwards and clearing to the east by late evening. Isolated showers persisting over the southern agricultural area and West Coast districts following the rain band. Showers tending scattered near southern coasts, with possible isolated thunderstorms. Cumulative rainfall totals from Wednesday afternoon to midnight Sunday are expected to be 15 to 40 mm over the southern agricultural area, south of the Northwest Pastoral and West Coast districts. 5 to 20 mm is expected over the remainder of the State, but easing to 2 to 10 mm north of about Tarcoola to Renmark, with less than 2 mm north of Ernabella to Moomba.Monday until WednesdayIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area contracting southwards during Monday. Showers scattered near southern coasts early morning, Fine on Tuesday apart from isolated early showers in the Lower South East. Areas of rain developing again on Wednesday. Cool to mild generally with light to moderate northeast to northerly winds, freshening on Wednesday and shifting northwest to southwesterly from the west.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Thursday.Product IDS10033
