Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jul 9/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high will remain stationary over the Tasman Sea area during this week. A low pressure system will develop near the western border later on Friday, then move eastwards over the Bight on Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayPatchy rain north of about Marree to Coober Pedy, tending to areas of rain in the far north, contracting slowly eastwards during the evening. Cool to cold with light east to northeast winds.Wednesday 10 JulyEarly frost over and to the east of the Mount Lofty and Flinders ranges. Early fog patches in the South East district. Patchy rain northeast of about Marree, contracting east and clearing during the afternoon. Patchy rain re-developing over the Northwest Pastoral to the northwest of about Roxby Downs during the afternoon or evening. A cool to mild day after a cold start with light to moderate north to northeasterly winds.Thursday 11 JulyEarly frost patches over the South East, Murraylands, Riverland and south of the Northeast Pastoral districts. Patchy rain extending from the east over most districts, except for the Lower South East and Northeast Pastoral to the northeast of Broken Hill to Oodnadatta. Rain increasing to areas of rain over the Northwest Pastoral. A cool to mild day with light to moderate north to northeasterly winds.Friday 12 JulyPatchy rain south and west of a line Broken Hill to Marla, increasing to areas of rain in a band to the north of about Adelaide to Elliston and south of Coober Pedy to Yunta. Cool to cold over rain affected areas, mild further north. Light to moderate northeast to northerly winds.Saturday 13 JulyAreas of rain over most districts except the far northeast, easing to isolated showers over western districts during the day or evening. Isolated thunderstorms over the Northwest Pastoral and West Coast districts. Mainly moderate northeast to northwesterly winds. Mild to warm in the far northeast, otherwise cool to cold throughout. Cumulative rainfall totals from Tuesday afternoon to midnight Saturday are expected to be 15 to 40 mm over the Northwest Pastoral, West Coast and Eyre Peninsula districts, with 10 to 20 mm expected over the remainder of the agricultural area and Flinders district, easing to 2 to 10 mm in the Lower South East and Northeast Pastoral districts.Sunday until TuesdayAreas of rain over the eastern half of the State on Sunday, contracting eastwards and clearing by evening. Isolated showers persisting over the agricultural area and western districts south of about Tarcoola. Showers tending scattered over the southern agricultural area, with possible isolated thunderstorms. Isolated showers over the southern agricultural area on Monday, scattered near southern coasts, contracting southwards during the day then clearing late evening. Fine on Tuesday. Cool to mild generally with moderate to fresh northwest to southwesterly winds, easing and tending northerly from the west on Monday and Tuesday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Wednesday.Product IDS10033
