MELBOURNE - Jul 9/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system just east of Victoria will drift out over the Tasman Sea on Thursday. The high will then move northwards on Friday to allow a cold front to pass south of Tasmania before returning to a position just east of Bass Strait on the weekend. A low pressure system is expected to form over southern W.A. on Friday before moving over Bight waters on Saturday. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayFine. Mostly clear with light winds.Wednesday 10 JulyWidespread morning frost and fog patches then a cool and mostly sunny day with light to moderate north to northeasterly winds.Thursday 11 JulyMorning fog and frost patches in the east. A fine and cool day to follow with increasing high cloud. The chance of a little rain in the far northwest at night. Light to moderate north to northeasterly winds.Friday 12 JulyAreas of rain developing over most northern regions and patchy rain developing in the south. Mostly dry in East Gippsland. Cool and mostly cloudy with light to moderate northerly wind.Saturday 13 JulyAreas of rain over most northern and western regions and patchy rain elsewhere.
