Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jul 9/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A strong high pressure system centred over Victoria currently extends a ridge across New South Wales, while directing southerly winds and showers along much of the coast. High cloud is increasing over the state's west, and on Wednesday a weak trough extending from Queensland into northwest New South Wales will combine with an upper level feature to produce some patchy rain across the northern inland. During this time, the high centre is forecast to shift from southeast Australia to the Tasman Sea, promoting generally fine weather across the south, restricting coastal showers areas in the north. Towards the end of the week, a low pressure trough approaching from the west may bring some unsettled conditions to the southern inland, but is more likely to affect a broader area as it progresses eastwards through the weekend.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayIsolated showers east of the ranges, tending scattered along the coastal fringe between Jervis Bay and Port Macquarie. Patchy rain developing in the far northwestern corner overnight. Fine elsewhere. Southwest to southeasterly winds near the coast, tending light and variable over much of the inland.Wednesday 10 JulyEarly frost on the southern tablelands. Morning fog patches in the south and east, mainly near the ranges. Isolated showers east of the ranges in the north, and along the coast north of Ulladulla, scattered at times along the coastal fringe. Patchy rain developing across the northern inland. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Southeast to northeasterly winds.Thursday 11 JulyIsolated showers along the coast and adjacent ranges in the north, tending scattered along the coastal fringe at first.
