MELBOURNE - Jul 7/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A ridge of high pressure remains over northern South Australia ahead of a high becoming established over the state on Monday. The high will then move over Victoria on Tuesday and over the Tasman Sea by Wednesday. A front will move over central and eastern districts this evening with another weak front passing to the south on Monday. Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers over the agricultural area and western coast of Eyre Peninsula contracting south during the evening. Mainly light winds.Monday 8 JulyIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area contracting south during the day and clearing by evening. Light frost and fog patches during the morning. A cool day with light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds becoming southeast to northeasterly during the day.Tuesday 9 JulyPatchy rain north of about Coober Pedy tending to areas of rain in the far north. Early frost over the southeast and on and east of the ranges, then a cool day with light to moderate northeasterly winds.Wednesday 10 JulyPatchy rain north of about Leigh Creek contracting east and clearing by late evening. Patchy rain developing near the western border of the Northwest Pastoral district during the evening. Cool to mild with light to moderate north to northeasterly winds.Thursday 11 JulyPatchy rain extending over parts west of about Woomera and tending to areas of rain in the far west.over most parts of the state apart from the northeast during Friday and Saturday. Cool to mild with moderate northeast to northwesterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Sunday afternoon to midnight Thursday are expected to be 2 to 5 mm over the southern agricultural area and 5 to 15 mm north and west of about Coober Pedy, with possible falls of 15 to 25 mm in the far north. Less than 2 mm is expected over remaining parts of the state.Friday until SundayPatchy rain, tending to areas of rain in the south, extending over most parts of the state during Friday and Saturday and clearing from the west to be clear of the state early Sunday. Isolated showers about the West Coast and agricultural areas following the rain.
