MELBOURNE - Jul 6/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A series of fronts will move over the south of the State during the weekend, while a ridge of high pressure persists over the north. A high will become established over South Australia on Monday, then move over Victoria on Tuesday. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers over the agricultural area, west coast and far south of the pastoral districts, tending scattered about the southern agricultural area apart from the Lower South East. Possible thunder over parts of the southern agricultural area and possible small hail about the Mt Lofty Ranges. Moderate to fresh west to northwesterly winds. Light and variable winds in the north.Sunday 7 JulyScattered showers and possible thunder over the southern agricultural area and western coast of Eyre Peninsula, easing during the day. Isolated showers over the remainder of the agricultural area and west coast contracting south and clearing in the evening. Early morning frost inland then a cool day with light to moderate northwesterly winds, turning southerly in the west. Light and variable winds in the north.Monday 8 JulyIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area contracting south during the day and clearing by evening. Early morning fog patches. Early frost on and east of the Flinders and Mt Lofty Ranges then a cool day with light to moderate south to southeasterly winds.Tuesday 9 JulyPatchy rain north of about Coober Pedy tending to areas of rain in the far north. Early frost over the southeast and on and east of the ranges, then a cool day with light to moderate northeasterly winds.Wednesday 10 JulyPatchy rain north of about Leigh Creek contracting east and clearing by late evening. Cumulative rainfall totals from Saturday afternoon to midnight Wednesday are expected to be less than 2 mm over the northern agricultural area and the far west coast. 2 to 5 mm over the southern agricultural area, reaching 5 to 15 mm about southern coastal districts and the west coast of Eyre Peninsula with falls of 15 to 30 mm about the Mount Lofty Ranges. generally up to 5 mm is expected north of about Coober Pedy reaching up to 15 mm in the far north .Thursday until SaturdayPatchy rain developing in the in the west on Thursday, tending to areas of rain near the western border, then extending east over most parts of the state apart from the northeast during Friday and Saturday.
