MELBOURNE - Jul 5/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A complex low pressure system lies to the south of Tasmania and is moving east. Two frontal systems are associated with this low pressure system. The eastern most front is crossing southern and central NSW today with fresh to strong winds for these districts, and showers for the western slopes of the southern ranges with snow on the Alps. On Saturday another high pressure system is expected to develop over central Australia and extend a ridge over northwest NSW while the second front passes to the south of the state. The high is expected to strengthen and move to the southeast, over Victoria early in the new week. Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers on the western slopes of the southern ranges with snow above 1000 metres. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Northwest winds turning westerly, strong and gusty over the southern and central range.Saturday 6 JulyIsolated showers on the western slopes of the far southern ranges with snow showers above 1100 metres. Mostly sunny elsewhere. West to northwest winds, gusty over the ranges in the morning.Sunday 7 JulyIsolated in the southeastern inland with snow showers on the western Alps above 1200 metres. Isolated showers over the eastern parts of the southern Riverina. Mostly sunny elsewhere. West to northwest winds, tending southwest to southeast in the far north and northeast.Monday 8 JulyIsolated showers on the western slopes of the far southern ranges with snow showers above 1100 metres. Isolated showers over the eastern parts of the Riverina. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southwest to southeast winds.Tuesday 9 JulyIsolated showers on the western slopes of the far southern ranges with snow showers above 1100 metres. Isolated showers over the southern parts of the Riverina. Isolated showers over the far northern coast. Partly cloudy elsewhere.
