MELBOURNE - Jul 4/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A complex low pressure system to the south of Tasmania is moving slowly east and a series of associated cold fronts will pass across southern New South Wales today and on Friday. On Saturday a high pressure system will move southwest of the Bight extending a ridge across the state behind the fronts. The next cold front is expected to cross the state during Wednesday. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers developing on the western slopes of the far southern ranges and along the Victorian border later this afternoon or evening. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Northwest winds, becoming strong and gusty in the southeast, possibly reaching gale force.Friday 5 JulyIsolated showers over the southeastern inland, tending scattered on the western Alps with snow showers above 1000 metres. Isolated showers in the far northeastern inland. Partly cloudy elsewhere. West to northwest winds, windy over the ranges and slopes.Saturday 6 JulyIsolated showers on the western slopes of the far southern ranges with snow showers above 1100 metres. Mostly sunny elsewhere. West to northwest winds.Sunday 7 JulyIsolated in the southeastern inland with snow showers on the western Alps above 1200 metres. Mostly sunny elsewhere. West to northwest winds, tending southwest to southeast in the far north and northeast.Monday 8 JulyIsolated showers on the western slopes of the far southern ranges with snow showers above 1100 metres.
